Our Screen Printing Process
Screen printing is a process of printing a design on a flat surface using ink, a mesh screen and squeegee. We follow these steps:
- Creating the design – Our graphic designer can help you with the ideas you have in mind to come up with the right design for printing. If you already have the design, you can email it to us or bring it in a USB to our store.
- Making the Screen – Firstly, our graphic artist makes the film of the finalized design. Secondly, we burn the film on the screen by exposing it to the bright ultra violet light.
- Setup – We set the screen on the machine according to position of the logo on the fabric. Each color in the design requires one screen. Hence, more the number of colors in the design, more number of screens.
- Printing – We push the ink through the screen using a squeegee. For a multi-color design, after printing 1 color, we let it dry under the heat for a couple of minutes and then print the second color.
- Drying – Once printing is done, we pass the fabric through a industrial sized dryer to cure the ink. This process makes the printed design last long even after many washes.
